No, standard 3 doesnt count cos i dont really know you were in my class. Funny how we found out we were actually classmates in form 4. Haha. Good time. Still remember the good old times we had in high schools, to SAM to 1st year in uni where you ditched me for nottingham. But nevermind i forgive you. haha. Still remember the time where we skyped till 5am i think. Omg all those gilberish stuff we talked, gossiped etc... I'm missing you already. Remember our spinster club? Our embarass moments? My winter holiday this year was spent touring New Zealand. I went to the South NZ first before heading up to the North. Visited many great places with a bunch of travel mates. Let the pictures speak for themselves. More pictures and description available in Facebook =D.

Wheeee.....no more exams! Like finally!!!! Life after exams is busier, with all the plans around, started off with Thursday afternoon's retail therapy, BBQ and steamboat at night; Friday's shopping spree and stay over; Saturday's another short shopping trip and Transformers 2; Sunday's packing and I'm off to NZ for 3 weeks! =P...I'm so excited, but at the same time I'm nervous about getting on time to the airport for the morning flight tomorrow =X.

I spent close to AUD 300 on all the shopping, I'm going on a shopping ban soon. Too poor now.

I'm so bored. Why everyone is having holidays already while I still have three more papers to go? FML. Can Thursday arrive faster? Why do the exams have to drag over two weeks when I can finish them in one week's time? It's such a torture to read the stuffs over and over and over again and yet still can't get them into the brain. 3 gone and 3 more to go. I'm only halfway through.

Let me tell you how did I go for my oral exam. So I had my oral counseling exam on the 17th. It was on the 11.15am. One day before it, I was revising and practicing with my friends the whole day and at night I was so nervous, I practically went insane, hoping tomorrow never comes. Such drama. I know, but I have never been so nervous for any exams before! Oral always hit me hard. I'm so afraid to miss out any point, because it was stated that if any essential criteria is missed, then we will fail the whole section. Scary much? That's why we were all so freaked out. No one wants to fail the exam.

On the morning before heading off to uni, my heart was pounding so fast due to the sympathetic stimulation I've got. I'm sure the heart nearly jumped out and I have to keep calming myself down. The next thing I know, I've already been quarantined in the waiting room and I was almost the last batch of students to go in for the exam. So I did some last minute revising and practicing and then around 1am I was called into the room.

The moment I stepped into the room, I was so nervous when the examiner handed me the OTC scenario. When the perusal time began, I started scrabbling down all the essential questions to be asked and looked up the pharmacy bible for the correct medicine to recommend to. The case was about a man working in the law firm coming into the pharmacy for his headache. The first thing that came to my mind was...ok, headache is pain, pain then use NSAID, and I happily looked up all the dosage and info for ibuprofen and jot them down. When the 5 minutes perusal was over, I began with 'Hi, I'm the pharmacist on duty today, how can I help you?' and it goes on. Everything went well but I was so careless I did not pick up one of the condition that the man is having. So I just proceeded with recommending the medication. 'Because you're just having a tension headache, I'll recommend you some ibuprofen.' The moment I said 'ibuprofen', the examiner went 'Oh, I should have told you this earlier. I have gastric pain and my doctor advised me not to take aspirin or any forms of that.' Seriously, that moment I went blank and kept regretting for not picking up this condition earlier when I asked about his past medical condition. **Thank godness the examiner was good to let me know of it, but I guessed I lost a lot of communication marks. I learnt from other friends that some examiner just let the student go with ibuprofen without interfering them, which I think wrong recommendation of medication will kill the patient, and in our case, maybe fail the exam.** So I quickly excused myself and search for paracetamol (panadol). 'Here I'll get you some paracetamol, is that okay?' and the examiner gave a thumb up for me. Then I proceeded with counseling on how to take the medication and I was saying 'take 0.5-1g every 4-6 hours and the maximum dose is 4g.' in which the examiner asked 'so what does that mean?' *omg in my mind I was thinking...oh shit how many tablets are there?* Then, I panicked and stunned there for few seconds trying to work out how many tablets are there. Simple maths failed me during this panic moment and I took so long to finally say 'ok, so take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours, not more than 8 tablets daily' and again the examiner smiled brightly at me and gave me a thumb up and I silently sighed a relief. 5 minutes of OTC section ended when the buzzer went off.

The examiner then handed me a prescription scenario. It was a woman coming in to get temazepam. During the 5 minutes perusal time, I looked up temazepam and wrote down the counseling points and all and I began with the same old introduction line. We had 10 minutes for this section and I think I was speaking a bit too fast that I still have like 4 minutes left when I finished the whole section. I also did some silly mistakes here. When I finished taking the patient history, I proceeded with counseling and telling the patient how to take the medication and what are the side effects. 'So, Miss Betty, this is your medication. It works really well in helping you to sleep. Just take one tablet at night when NECESSARY. There are some common side effects that you have to know when you are on this medication and these include some drowsiness and oversedation. So you might get a hangover the next morning, just be careful about that and avoid operating machinery. You will also develop tolerance, dependence and withdrawal symptoms, so do not stop taking this medication suddenly.' To which the examiner showed me a confused face and asked 'but I'm only taking this when NECESSARY. If I take this for two days and I stop taking on the third night, is that considered stopping suddenly?' *OMG I got stunned again and I don't know how to answer her and I was trying so hard to find explainations to her but to no avail.* 'emmmmmm (I remembered I dragged this for very long), yea Miss Betty, just keep in mind not to stop taking it suddenly because of the withdrawal syndrome but for your case I think it's just alright' !!!!!! I seriously don't know what was I saying and I saw the confused face of the examiner and my heart was beating even faster. I think the examiner just let go with this issue and I continued advising her on the sleep hygiene to be practiced.

I was the fastest to finish this section in the whole room with a total of 3 students. Then I just took off the recorder on my neck and placed it on the table and smiled at the examiner. The examiner wrote something on the marking sheet which I can't see and then we still have plenty of time before the buzzer went off and I can't leave the room just yet. So the examiner was striking up a casual conversation with me by commenting that she liked my keychain on my pencil case and we proceeded to chat about Malaysia...haha as she asked me where was I before coming to Brisbane. I think our conversation was being recorded in the recorder as she did not switch off the recorder when I placed it on the table. XD.

That is how I went with the oral. I just hope I did not screwed up too much with the slowness in telling the patient the correct number of tablets and the wrong choice of medication to be recommended in the first place for OTC section and the contradictory and possibly irrelevant information of stopping the medication abruptly in the prescription station. I just want a pass for the oral. Pretty pleaseeeee....

The day has come...again...Funny why I don't feel a thing yet. But I'm extremely nervous about Wednesday's oral exams. FML. I'm nervous of not being stressed. Probably I will when I wake up for tomorrow's 8am exam.

Oh wait, 8am? Yes. Seriously, I'm worried if I can actually wake up in time. Everyone knows how much I dreaded 8am classes and even though I've set the alarm at 6.45am, I will always laze in the bed until 7.10am, only am I willing to pull myself out to embrace the chilly morning.

One week of study break came and gone. I think I've pretty much covered most stuffs, but hey, who can get fully prepared for one exam? My life has been pretty screwed during the whole one week of study break. Why, you asked? Well, imagine not eating proper meals, constantly ended up with instant food, napping through the day and staying up burning the midnight oil in the freezing night, sleeping at irregular times; it can be 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 (latest). I'm surprised at how I actually managed to pull this through. Serious adjusting of lifestyle and detox need to be done after exams, not forgetting all the plans waiting for me.

It's June and it's the end of financial year again! What does that mean? Well, S-A-L-E-S of course!! I was out on the Friday before study break and went through a mini spree. Total damage: AUD 120. Not that bad right? Considering the fact that it was on 50% massive sales and there's no reason for me not getting that bag that I've been lusting on for so long, even though it might be off season already. Who cares? As long as it looks good. =D. Oh and that few dresses that I was eying on...I should really go get em when I finish the exams, as a reward for myself? But I can only get one out of the few the I really like. So, I need you to help me decide =P.

Another damage was done on the Wednesday of study break when I was trying to escape the reality of studying and ventured totally into shopping, which I ended up feeling guilty after that about spending the whole afternoon shopping away. I need to start drafting up a checklist for souvenirs and presents again. I really should try to get all stuffs during the end of financial year sales. But knowing how good I am at procrastinating, I doubt if I can do what I intended to.

Ok, all the best for those who are sitting for exams, and also all the best to me. O.O. I really need 'em. Now that I've been wasting my time writing this, I should go eat the yummy rice wine chicken that I cooked last night at 2am. XD. Actually, not me, it's the slow cooker.

Food attack XD. Glorious food makes me happy =). Come to think of it, I have not been eating and sleeping well for the past few days. Stupid exam stress. Instant food is my new best friend. I know how I'm slowly messing up my body system, but I can't help it. Time is ticking and I still have tonnes to gobble down. Not food, that is. Facts, dose, pathophysiology. O.O.

I can't focus. Typing now makes my hands so cold, but I'm already wearing gloves. lol. I know a bit too much. But I think I'm living in a fridge. Enough of crap. Pictures of food which kept me sane.

Dear All

I will be away for the weekend (including tomorrow) at a bike race and do not know if the hotel will have internet access. As such I may be unable to answer questions on the discussion board until I return on Sunday evening. I will endeavor to answer as many questions as possible on Sunday night (when I'm not chasing my son around the house). Any unanswered question will be attended to on Monday.

Haha. Almost choked to death when i was checking my mail. Yea, i was eating my breakfast at that time. Wth. I was literally giggling like a jakun. I think my housemates thought I'm some siao zha bo. I think this place is so dead, let me revive it...by not making any major updates but just for the sake of having a new post.

Screw it, what on earth am I saying?

Anyway, I haven't have any updates about all of you in ages!!
How have you girls been? Don't leave me outdated ok, because then I will be angry. No, serious!

Okay, updates about me...
well pretty much nothing, because my life is boring like that.
My mind only revolves around uni, assignments, datelines, love deficient, more pondering, self-pity...sometimes I even think why am I here. Pretty depressing thoughts, huh.

Oh well, happier stuffs. I sort of got addicted to baking recently and I made Friday my baking day. Have made egg tarts and chocolate marble cheddar cheesecake so far, will be trying blueberry ice-cream cheesecake, cupcakes, brownies, tiramisu and butter cake soon. Will show my masterpiece in just a second. Also, I got inspired to DIY some shoes. I guess that's what I do to take my mind off those depressing thoughts.

Uncertainties

I hate the part where people have to leave when everything seems so perfect and all of the sudden something hit us, and the next thing we know, everything doesn't go the way we want.

Distance is something people feared, because we all know how 'out of sight, out of mind' works.
True enough, but that doesn't necessarily apply to all out there.
I've seen people overcome the obstacle by the name of distance, but what happened in between, those ups and downs, cries and happiness...who am I to judge?

Have been emo and depressed for the last few weeks, can't help it.
Lacrimal duct has been very productive.
Be strong, someone told me. Not that I don't want to.

Last night, it's a new chapter of the story.
What await us, we wouldn't know.
The weather has been gloomy today, I think even the sky is crying for us.
I fear the uncertainties. I fear the separation.
But I should have faith. What makes me weak will only makes me stronger one day.
Holding tight to that and I will be fine.

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Well, I will be away for approximately 2 weeks time and I guess I'll just update this place before it becomes dead. pathetic!

Here's some of the deco in major shopping complexes in KL. I think I only have decos from Sungai Wang, Sunway Pyramid and 1 Utama. I've seen Pavillion's one! I think the gigantic golden Ox at the entrance of Pavillion was great! Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it.

It's the last day of 2008, it's a New Year's Eve today! But one more thing which is more important to me for this day....*drumroll..* It's my dearest bestie 19th Birthday!!! Thanks for the super long post for me on my 20th birthday which makes me tear from being too touched but also make laugh real hard at the same time. That's my best birthday present ever!! So, here I thought I will also write something to touch you the same way you did, or maybe even more? I'm really sad every year because I'm always not there to celebrate your big day with you, but at least now we are a tad closer to each other and we are still in the same country. Unlike the NZ-Aussie distance we always had for the past few months.

So how did we first started off? well, I guess I did not notice u much during our orientation week back in INTEC. Probably, I was sticking too much around with my roomie that time. Can't blame me right, I'm so shy..(*cough*), and not very good in making conversations. Oh gosh thinking of it, that reminds me, my dear roomie has the same birthdate as YOU! LOL. I think I first laid my eyes on you when I went to BCB bank to create an account. You were there, with your roomie and Pik Khee (Oh gosh, I was thinking so hard all of the sudden to get her name right. XD) You guys just finished opening the bank acoount and then were about to leave when we came in. I remembered I was with Kuan, and she was the one initiating the talk with you while I stood aside coldly. T__T Am I really that cold ar?

Then came the 1st day of class. I was in class pretty damn early, cause I'm so kiasu wanna grab a good seat. lol. I remembered walking into the class with the sight of Roslan (玫瑰) hahahaha, and Hassan...ehhhh noooo Kaisan isit, omg I can't really recall their names already. DAMN the age is catching up =(. I sat at the second row and then waited patiently for more ppl to come into the class. Not long after that, I saw you walking in, with your sling bag and all the small little things in your hands looking very much blur. lol. I caught you catching a glimpse of me and then you shoot me a question 'Is anyone sitting here?' and that's how we build up our friendship from there. Frankly speaking, when the class lists were out, I did notice your name which is right above mine and I thought to myself, 'Hmm, who is this person. Is that a guy or girl?' (haha I'm sorry, I'm innocent like that and I've never encountered such an unique surname like yours before, hence that explains why I can't tell the gender from the name.)

Then came the Thursday of the week, it was such a relief that we managed to cancel the Friday's moral class and make it a holiday instead. That night, I went over to sleep at your place as your dear roomie was away! We spent the whole night eating junk food, online using your laptop cause mine just sucked big time I don't even know how I deal with it last time, watching random movies and dramas, and then you introduced your dirty zer zer to me, which I think is not so cute afterall =P. The next morning, we woke up and went for breakie together for roti canai. Man, I seriously miss those times. I miss those times where we will snuggled in ur cosy bed and watch 突围行动 and 学警出更 before going to the study room, and I will always listen to your complaints about 吴卓西 a.k.a si da fei as how you always refer to him in 学警出更, then how you suddenly grow to like him in 突围行动 just because he is a vet in the drama. lol. Owh, not forgetting your love for 马德钟 and how you will always go to the forum and even won some posters from there? XD...LOL did u finally receive them? HAHA.

Then as time goes by, we grew closer and closer to each other. I'll always turn to you the first thing whenever I'm happy or sad and you never fail to entertain me and stand by my side with your ever bubbly and cute personality. I still remember how we used to have a great war with the cockroaches in your room, and how you are so afraid of lizard you will text me in the middle of the night and tell me you are so scared to sleep and then I will have to ask you to come sleep on the couch in my living room.

Recalling the days we spent in L7 always put a smile on my face. IELTS classes were the time which I dread the most because all thanks to your name, Ms Faradibah loves to ask us out to practice speaking!!! Then, both of us always can't stop laughing. Very paiseh ok. =X. Remember how we used to gossip about the rest of the classmates and gave them special nicknames? Remember 'ugly bear' (LOL!!! so funny can.)...'oh lu lu' (OMG THIS ONE EVEN FUNNIER)...黄梨....杂志...and so many more...XD.. why are we so creative? lol. Then, remember how we always bully Ms Chia during Bio lessons, and how we always have to think very hard during ESLS lessons, how we watched so many text production movies together --- Dead Poet Society, Bend it like Beckham and finally Men of Honour...How we struggle to finish the whole text production essay in one fine afternoon...remember Carl Brashear? remember Mr. Pappy, or more known as PappyPu by you. remember how we squeeze our brain juice trying to work out the 3 main ideas of the whole movie? Remember how we kept watching the movie over and over again just to catch the few meaningful quotations they said?

After we are done with text production, we struggled with Issue Analysis...then we worked our way to the greatest ATM machine on C++ (eh, do u still have the output ar?)

I can't agree more with you that our finals during year 11 were the sweetest time of the whole year 11!! Thanks to wei fen's 5-star house! haha, and how we finally found strongest signal for internet connection to online in the kitchen of wei fen's house!! LOL!! Remember how one night, ann jie and the rest walked past the kitchen and saw us there and they were laughing non-stop asking us what are we doing in the kitchen. Such sweet memories. Remember how we used to study until very late in the study room and then headed back to the 5-star room and turn on the music on ur laptop while we were preparing for bed, then we will talked until we fall asleep and be woken up the next day by so many alarms (from ur cellphone, from my cellphone, from my alarm clock, from Yea Kee's super loud alarm clock), and the 1st thing I see when I open my eyes is the sight of you rolling around the bed, being very unwilling to pull yourself out from the bed, so cute!!! Remember how you discovered a great website to play games, those 益智游戏 and how we got so addicted to it we played until the middle of the night? Remember how we always go and kacau wei fen when we were too bored studying? Remember how we kept asking each other why we wouldnt get bored of each other even though we are together for 24 hours a day.

Then we had our 2 months holidays before the scary Year 12 awaits us. During the whole 2 months, I had been missing you terribly, and I even went back to akasia earlier just to see you!! =D...and it was a fine Saturday evening when I was about to clean the whole hostel myself which is covered in inches thick of dust. Something unfortunate happened and I was locked out in the laundry room, not sampah room ok!! =P...and lucky me I have my cellphone with me, and I immediately called you to save me. LOL. SERIOUSLY I FREAKED OUT LIKE HELL THAT TIME. hahaha..Thanks for saving me, you are like the knight in shining armour!! lol, even though you were laughing like mad after that. lol. How did I know the wind is sooo strong it shuts the door!!?!? Ohhh, I just went and search up on my archive and the very said incident happened on the 6th January 2007!! (http://foodfamily.blogspot.com/2007/01/incident.html ) I was still suffering from the aftermath of reading this backdated post!! Too embaressing indeed. Owh, but you also did something embaressing. Remember the fan incident? It happened during the end of second semester when we had to do clearance for the hostel and OMG I had the shock of my life and I can't help but laugh a little when I came into your room. The sight of you standing in an extremely awkward position holding on to the ceiling fan.......LOL...I still have the picture here and I think I did blogged about it. We were in different class for the whole duration of Year 12 and I was really devastated but then again nothing do us apart. We will still go to study room the 1st thing after we finish our class and then we will start catching up on what happen in the class that day, we will still go for our dinner together every day at 5.45pm without fail, we will still go to eat our favourite nasi goreng in Cemara, we will still go to each other's classroom during lunch break and sometimes we will take a nap together, sometimes we will gossip about others. Every night we will walk back to our rooms together. My weakest subject is Maths and that was your strongest subject; my strongest subject is Biology and that was your weakest!! I do believe we complement each other so well. The only thing we did together in Year 12 was the Moral Project, thinking of it makes me laugh...remember how we wanted to put our pictures in the last slide of the presentation?? HAHA I know we are really quite vain. lol. Owhh and that reminds me, we took so many pictures using your very canggih camera phone during Year 11 days, almost everyday we will take one pictures. Looking back at those pictures make me feel that we were still so fresh and young that time. =P

I still can remember your brilliant idea of asking people that can watch the tournament to put the webcam in front of the television so that I can watch it as well. XD. No matter how difficult my days are, the smile on your face always never fails to influence me. Indeed, you are really like an angel god sent from above, and that I cherish you.

We've grown so much closer over the years and I can never bring myself to be angry at you for long, for I can't afford to lose you. Yes, I admit you have become a very important part of my life and I remember how during the final days of us in Akasia, I think it was after the AUSMAT Grand Dinner, we sort of had a cold war, I don't know due to what reason, but I guess that was probably we saw what was coming, we knew we will be separated soon and hence we were trying to get used to the fact that we will no longer be able to spend every minute together.

We went through SSABSA together, waking up at 5am by giving each other a morning call, taking the bus at 6am and then wearing layers of jackets to keep ourself warm from the freezing cold great hall. The after exam celebrations and those birthday celebrations in RedBox, McD, KFC, Secret Recipe, Subang, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Lagoon, TGIF.....I will never forget them...your favourite triangle thing that you are always looking out for during bazaar ramadan, what was it again? samosa or something along that line? the 3 for RM 1 curry puff that we heart so much, our spicy and yummilicious RM3.50 nasi lemak for dinner, our favourite kuey teow goreng on monday's pasar malam, my favourite keropok lekor in different sizes, our benjo that we enjoyed so much, your all time favourite nasi goreng belacan in Cemara, the kuey teow kungfu that was practically fulled of pepper and yet we still ate it nevertheless and ended up with sore throat the next day, our visits to the doctor together for I was down with cold/flu and you with your sprained ankle, the ridiculous doctor which nearly made you go for X-ray to which you detested so much and vowed never to visit him ever again, the way you always lovingly call me 'troy troy, hand.' and I reacted by giving you my hand and you always gave me a big smile saying 'good boy'. Remember kylie, chyet and chyetim all these names? haha...All these little details very much made my day.

During the science carnival, for the biology booth we were having dissection of white mouse. I still remember your 'Magic ink', 'Dancing noodle' and what else already ar? XD. Then as an animal lover yourself, you were so excited to see those white mice which u claimed were so cute and you even gave them names. Remember Kiki? I don't even know what makes you got so attached to it and what makes you recognized it as Kiki since there were so many other mice which to me looked all the same =D. Was Kiki a male mouse and then we gave another female mouse the name of Lala, so there you have Kiki & Lala. XD. Then remember during every lunch break, I tagged along with you to pop in the biology lab to visit your dearest Kiki? On one fine afternoon, a young man walked into the lab while we were there playing with the mice and then he started explaining about how those mice were afraid of the new surroundings and how they knew their fate of being dissected soon and all. LOL. We both thought that the man was a mouse salesman!!! Only did we both knew that he was actually a lecturer for ACTP or ADFP? either one, I've always mixed up the two. So funny can. Speaking of mouse, do you still remember there was once my housemates (I forgot who, I think it was PK) told me that my house got rat!! Those dirty big black rat? Remember how I nearly cried because I was so afraid of those dirty little creatures roaming in my house and the thought of seeing them really freaked me out. And you, you laughed at me when I nearly cried and I don't even dare to go home!! But soon after, you were worrying that the rat will somehow go to your house just because I am staying one floor above of you. XD.

I had the most memorable trip to penang, and yes I love penang as much as you do. I really enjoyed the duration of my stay in your place when I was in Penang because I get to spend every moment with you, and we get to eat scrumptious Penang food together (Northam Beach Cafe, omg!!!), visit Kek Lok Si together, take lots of pictures of your huge collections of schnauzer (you know what, you made me love schnauzer so much now that whenever I see a schnauzer I would go 'awww, it's a schnauzer!! so cuteee!' and deep down inside I will always remember you and your troy.) Then I remembered playing fluff friends on Facebook and wedding dash while waiting for you to return from your driving lessons. LOL, good 'ol times!! Thanks for bringing me around Penang and thanks to your parents for treating me so nice during my one week stay there. I miss uncle and auntie very much T_T. I can't forget how hard we hunt for souvenirs that time. Yes, I remember the salesgirl said that we were like sisters!! You really are a gem to me!

I'm too depressed now to even keep my mind straight. I need to release my anger here. Period.

But I can't stop thinking...
Why someone can be so ignorant, doesnt bother much about other's feelings and can leave one licking the wounds alone?
Why is the one who is always giving so much and not hoping for a huge outcome, get hurt even when one is not asking for too much?
Why is that when one is acting PMS and all that she wants is some soothing words and that is just too much to ask for?
Why is that even when there are 48 hours a day, it will still be insufficient and still can't take some time off?
This is the craziest thing I have ever done.
Sometimes, I just don't know what is going on.
Sometimes, I think putting so much effort is not worth it.
Maybe, maybe I'm just being overly sensitive, and unreasonable.

I have always dream of a white Christmas...I wonder when can I truly experience white Christmas with snow piling up on the ground, and I can wake up to the breeze of winter Christmas. I talked to a friend of mine today which got me thinking. It's the 7th of December already as of today. How time flies.

As much as I'm looking forward to my visit in Melbourne, as much as I'm looking forward to go back home, as much as I'm looking forward to meet all my relatives and friends back home;
I can't help but also think that there goes my 1st year of Uni life.

I regretted not enjoying myself to the max in my 1st year of Uni life, but yet on the other hand I regretted not acing all the subjects. It's true how people told me it's the personality that matters the most when it comes to job interview in the working world. Yes, I know, but isn't securing more HDs an added bonus? But oh well, what's done cannot be undone. There's no use crying over split milk, aye?

Such dilemma. I'm dreading the new semester. I know it's still early to think about that now, but you know what, when one is too bored (*hint: me), one tends to let the mind wanders a tad too far, which sometimes can be good, can be bad. It's up to you to judge. I would say it's a little in between the two. I have been wasting my one whole month of holidays rotting at home. Oh well, I can't say waste, because I've got plenty of time. What else can I do besides writing crap like these which I know no one bothers to read anyway? As much as I want to sharpen my knowledge on drugs and all, I do not have the resources and most importantly laziness kicks in. That says it all.

Study related stuffs aside, I really think I should enjoy my summer holidays before I push myself too hard next year. I should be happy because in one week's time, I will be meeting my family and then we're gonna have the best vacation ever in Melbourne. I should be, but I'm not. Sigh. There're just too many things going on my mind now. Although I might look alright on the surface, but deep down inside I'm actually being really emo. I like to hide my feelings. Someone once threw me a question which goes like this 'Why are you always so happy? How can you be so cheerful all the time?' Am I? It's so superficial. Babies are the most honest little things. I wished, I wished I can express my emotions like how a baby does.

I'm tired, tired of everything. The things that are happening around me, around the world. What's with all the terrorist attacks going on? What's with all the never-ending crimes happening in every part of the world?
I wonder is there really a thing like PEACE? Is there really such thing like LOVE? What does happiness mean? It's just too hard to please everyone, aye?
I can't help but lose hope. I just want to get to a place with mountains and the ocean where I can stand on top of the world and shout my lungs out. I will be alright, superficially, if you know me well you know what I mean.

Fraser's adventure day 2

lalalalala...I'm rotting to death...so here I'm gonna blog about my day 2 in Fraser Island, but before that, let me recall what I've done. XD. It's been so long ago already. Why is my post always backdated? T____T. Fret not, picture heavy post ahead!

Oh well, on the second day, I was woken up at 5am and got ready by 6am and we went to rent a 4WD so that we can drive on Fraser's Island. Why a 4WD, you ask? That's because Fraser's Island is the world's largest sand island, and so they want to preserve the nature of the island, the flora and the fauna there, hence you can rarely see any tar road on the whole island, only in the developed town.

I have a short video on it but I'm too lazy to upload, it's not like anyone is going to watch anyway, so forget it. wtfDid I mention the weather was being a bitch, like seriously. Wet and cold :S. I was greeted by the rain the first thing in the morning and the rain was heavier and heavier. I have never experienced such a heavy rain ever since I'm here. This is the first time, and I later found out that Brisbane was hit by the biggest storm ever too, to the extend that I got a message from my dad the next day when my phone has reception asking me to report my safety. lol.

After boarding the barge, we went taking pics around, but the wet weather is really a great turn off! After 45 minutes on the barge, we finally reach the ever famous Fraser's Island. Wheeeeee~~ joy to the world, tra la la~~

#6 We were travelling on road like this.....hard times hard times..it's like a bumpy roller coaster ride, but luckily we are not driving our own car, just a rented car, so we wouldn't bother dirtying it. XD
First stop was Lake McKenzie. [It is a 'perched' lake, which means it contains only rainwater, no groundwater, is not fed by streams and does not flow to the ocean. The sand and organic matter at the base of the lake form an impervious layer, preventing rainwater from draining away.
The sand here is pure, white silica and is not only beautiful to look at but feels beautifully soft to walk on. The sand acts as a filter, giving the water its clarity and helping to make the water so pure it can support very little life. The blues and greens of the lake are endlessly fascinating.] Fraser Island is famous for its rainforest and freshwater lakes. We only have the time and opportunity to visit 2 lakes.

#14 Lake Wabby. [Lake Wabby is relatively close to the ocean side of Fraser Island and unlike the other lakes, it supports several varieties of fish. It is known as both a window lake and a barrage lake. Window lakes form when the ground level falls below the water table. Barrage lakes form when a sand blow blocks the waters of a natural spring. This phenomenon is easy to see at Lake Wabby. On one side it`s deep green waters are bordered by a giant sand dune that is slowly moving into the lake. In a century or so, the sand dune’s inexorable march westward across Fraser Island will see it completely swallow the lake.]
And then we headed to Eurong Beach Resort to have our lunch while waiting for the ebb. We can drive along the coast only when the ebb happens at 2pm.

#21 Maheno Wreck. [The Maheno, the most famous of the Fraser Island wrecks, was driven ashore just north of Happy Valley during a cyclone in 1935. Today the hull lies slowly deteriorating in the harsh salt environment, about 10 kilometres north of Happy Valley.] The ship was driven ashore by the strong winds and has remained there ever since. I heard that Fraser Island got its name from the captain's name. =)
#22 just have to pose with the 4WD cause it looked so cool XD.#23 Cathedral beach. It is known for the coloured sand here, but due to the rainy weather, we could not see any colour. Well, I'm guessing we need sunlight to let the colour appear.
[These coloured sand cliffs have been sculptured by the wind and rain blowing in off the Pacific Ocean. The colours - red, brown, yellow and orange - are spectacular and are best viewed in the early morning light. The size of the cliff faces is a reminder of how large the sand dunes on the island are. The cathedrals are situated on 75 Mile Beach approximately 18km south of Indian Head.]

Oh I Love Christmas!

I've got a shock of my life when I saw the tallest Christmas tree right in front of the Conrad Treasury!! I've grown up to like the season of Christmas even though I don't celebrate it. It's those pretty little deco of Christmas and the amazing lighting that keeps me looking forward to this festival.

I had a karaoke session with the friends in the afternoon and right after that I went to the city for a short walk before heading to Sizzler for dinner, and then back to the city to enjoy the night. The whole city is so beautiful with all the Christmas deco and the tallest Christmas tree!! Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to witness the lighting up of the gigantic Christmas tree as I was rushing for Sizzler, but when I return after dinner, the tree was lighted up beautifully, it took my breath away! XD Sometimes, I really wished I can experience a white Christmas....

Fraser's adventure day 1

So I've decided to go to the Largest Sand Island, Fraser's Island which is located up north in Queensland. Of the many islands surrouding Queensland, Fraser's Island is the more well-known one compared to Moreton Island, Strandbroke Island and so on.

What makes me go to Fraser's Island then? Well, I have to thank my dear housemate, Joyce for being so enthusiastic and pulling me into joining the adventure. We have been discussing about this even before our exams. It was also a coincidence that my NZ friend, KS will be visiting me during that time; and Joyce's SO (significant other) will also be in Brissy after our finals. So, we drafted out our plan of going there by ourself, we don't like following tours.

To cut the story short, on the 17th November, Joyce woke me up around 6+ in the morning and we brought our luggages to ChinaTown so that we can start our journey there after we rent the car.

We went through so much hurdles before we finally got a car.

First of all, we only have 2 drivers, which are KS and Joyce's SO. KS is under 21, which he is not permitted to drive by those car-renting agency; so our hope was all on Joyce's SO, as he is over 25 and has an international driving licence. Sounds great, aye? Wrong! When we've negotiated everything and wanted to pay the agent, they asked to show the driving licence. Oh well, just show them right, no biggie! But we are so wrong!! To our horror, they wanted to look at the original driving licence too, and Joyce's SO did not bring his original with him, he left it back in TW!! He only has the translated international driving licence with him. OMFG, this is so freaking funny. I think those car-renting agency's people were probably laughing their heads off seeing us like that. Freaking embaressing, can!

We have no choice but to drag our luggages and walked out of that car-renting office and try to think of some other ways to get a car. I even called my friend to ask for help and he was very very very kind enough to offer to rent the car for us on behalf of his name *thanks a zillion, Kev!* While waiting for Kev to come to our rescue, we even decided to drag our luggages back home, if we can't get a car, but I was really determined to go on the trip! I admit I was so determined that I will not drag my luggage back home and I will go to somewhere like maybe Gold Coast or something, just not HOME! LOL...Joyce said she can sense my firmness, and that's what makes this trip a dream come true.

While waiting for Kev, we thought that it's still not so convenient even though we have someone to rent the car for us. You see, what if we can't rent the 4WD when we reach Hervey Bay? Then there goes our Fraser trip. So, we decided to try our luck with another car-renting agency, because we believe different agency has different policies. And guess what, we were right!! I was so excited when Joyce called me and told me Thrifty, another car-renting agency did not insist on looking for the original licence.....which means we've rented the car!! So, I quickly called Kev and told him we've got the car and thank him for his kindness.

After going through all the havoc early in the morning, we finally begin our journey at around 10.30 am. KS was the driver of the day and our destination is Hervey Bay. We decided to stay in Hervey Bay cause we know we will definitely miss the last barge to Fraser's Island, so might as well we take the earliest barge the next day morning.

Oh well, enough of words, here comes the pictures!

yay this is the last entry from the sydney trip, like finally.....lol...the 7th day of being in sydney was spend eating dim sum at china town, shopping at the well known paddy's market, visiting darling harbour (again!) and sydney opera house (and again...) and at night we had a steamboat party to end our vacation in sydney.

T___T....these few sentences remind me so much of those times of how we strived in the study room..mannn...I should have look at those few words earlier. I missed all my intec friends T__T. Remember one year back? How we studied like a hardcore and how we entertained/motivated each other? Yes, that's the spirit!

Now, I've gained some confidence and motivation for my tomorrow's 1st paper, which also happens to be the scariest paper of all - Anatomy!! *screams* It's less than 22 hours to the paper!! wtf. I have been cramming Anatomy for the last few days and yet I'm still freaking out and having butterflies in my stomach. Well, felt much better after seeing the quotes.

I'm off to mugging more Anatomy facts! wish me luck! T__T

this place is so dead...i'm spending some time off my piles of books to...emm....update this place? LOL...

it's one week of study break for me..and then it's FINALS!! OMG..i'm so totally not ready...and i guess i will never be ready T_T..how pathetic..

anyway, i'm just finding excuse to continue procrastinating...le sigh..i hate exams but come to think of it, i had my last lecture of the whole 1st year yesterday and I went out at night to sort of celebrate it? LOL....yesh finding excuse to get away from my books again...

ohh ohh anyway i think i'm gonna make jerked meat (肉乾) later when i get bored of my books...all thanks to pat who showed me that easy recipe and also her master piece over the webcam yesterday..it makes me so tempted to do it straight away but i don't have baking paper at home, so i went out and get it last night...AND I'M GONNA MAKE IT LATER!! WEEEEEEE~~that is if the lazy bug doens't affect me...goshhh sometimes i wonder why am i so lazy....i really hate myself at times...bahhhhh.....

enough of procrastinating, expect more entries from me when i finish my exams...which is freaking 3 more weeks later...

Back From L.A!!!

Dear foodies,

I am back from L.A. !!! Overall it wan a fun, interesting, adventurous trip. I went there with only one of my girl friend, Michelle. We flew there and rented a car over there.

We stayed at this hostel at Hollywood on our very first day, as you see in the picture below, it's a very basic room, no TV and air-cond/fan and with a shared bathroom.
When I first arrived at the hostel, I did not like the feeling... So we asked whether we can cancel the room, but this means the deposit that i payed will be gone, so we decided we will only stayed there for a night. Oh ya before that, my friend actually flew back from Malaysia, and I met her in LAX. While waiting for her in the airport, i met this random Singaporean guy, chat a bit, and told me lots of stuff about L.A. Got some infos what cheap places to stay in L.A.

By the time my friend arrive, it's already 4:30 p.m. We went to the hostel first then we headed out for dinner. While walking on the street of Hollywood, we passed by Grauman's Chinese Theatre. There were lots of street performers and we got pull over by some of them!!! (which means need to bagi tips lor!!!)

We found this Italian restaurant which claims it self to be the oldest Italian restaurant in Hollywood. We both shared a pizza and a pasta, it was really good and surprisingly it wasn't really expensive. The total came up to $38 (tax & tips included). It cost somewhere around there if you eat in some western restaurant in Iowa.

Then the next day, we went to Wax Museum, Guiness World Record, Ripley's Believe it or not, Kodak Theatre. The we headed to Farmer's Market... lots of food!!! The Getty Museum... Preeeeety place!!!

On the third day, we headed to.............

Universal Studio

We bought our lunch from this Flintstones place...

Then we had our dinner at this ramen place, it was really GOOD!!!

On the 4th day, we started our day by having dim sum for breakfast at this "very chinese" chinese restaurant...

Then, we headed to Quenn Mary which is located at Long Beach...

We even went to the submarine... where there are lots of lubang that we need to walk through...

After that we decided to head to long beach... but...the lifegurad at the beach told us that the water is polluted on that day and we can't go to the water...

And... my camera got NO MORE BATTERY, and I forgot to bring my adapter, threfore i can't charge my camera, so... gambar hanya sampai di sini.

Then the next day, we decided to head to the beach again, this time is Santa Monica. Had a great time over there...

The on the next day, we went to Disneyland... Don't worry there will be pictures for this later cos Michelle frien in L.A wnet there with us so we took some pictures using her camera but I have not got it yet. We stayed thre till midnight... EXHAUSTED!!!

We went back on the next day.

There goes my L.A. We did planned the trip initially, but we end up not following the itinery, hahahahahahhaha, so all the stuffs that we did are RANDOM!!!

Day 2, 12th July 2008 (Saturday)

OMG, it has been one month ago, but i'm still procrastinating on updating the winter break trip. Since it's a public holiday in Queensland today, hooorayyy!!!! I thought I might just update bit by bit...XD....I don't know what I'm up to, just plain busy these days with uni, assignments, placements and also busy having fun with all the events happening around in Queensland. I will update once I have the time to, that is when I manage to finish this winter break trip.

so on the second day, 12th of July 2008, I woke up around 10 am i think, had breaky and then both khai chin and I were waiting for Pizza to take us around to his uni, which is University of Sydney. Our plan for the day is just touring around the uni, then lunch at home, then Chinatown for groceries and shopping then dinner outside. Not much of a big plan as we were expecting the arrival of friends from Melbourne tonight.

Oh and I met up with vege for a short while in Chinatown, and she brought me shopping around...LOL...I managed to take a pic with her, but sadly she still hasn't send me the pic yet...u hear me, dear vege? love u...LOL

I'm lazy to write any more words, so I'll just show pictures with some captions. XD.

I had a wonderful winter holiday. Now that it was over, new semester begins, I shall share those beautiful pictures here, just so you can drool over them. XD.

Yes, I spent one week in Sydney and I fell in love with that place!! It is seriously more happening and so much prettier than Brisbane!! Just look at the pictures coming up soon. You just gotta agree with me that Sydney is such a BEAUTIFUL city!!! Oh well, Melbourne is pretty too, just that I did not travel to Melbourne this winter, will do that in the coming summer, soon soon!! XD...I have some pictures of Melbourne and yes I'm so dying to go Melbourne after seeing all the wonderful pictures my friends gave me.

Now, let's move on to the day I depart from Brisbane to Sydney, first time flying with Virgin Blue.And the flight got delayed for 50 minutes or so I think. Finally, on the plane....short distance flight, it only took me 1 and a half hour to reach Sydney.Cam whore in the plane cause I'm too excited for the plane to take off...LOL..After landing at Sydney domestic airport around 3pm, we catched an Airtrain to the central.

Then we were just lazing in our dear host, Pizza Chow's place until dinner time. We took a walk around The University of Sydney and I was amazed at the beauty of their buildings!!

Long time no see!!!

What have I been doing lately? Classes loo and working. My regular day is something like this...

Reach home, gym, cook, makan, do work, watch drama, sleep......

Just finish with my on campus class, Finals was on Friday. So now tak ada class 2 attend in the afternoon anymore. But I have one more online class to attend, so means still got hw 2 do , not completely goyang kaki yet.

Oh ya, I pindah rumah edi loo, no more Frederiksen Court, it's Bramble Oak apartment, Tripp Street (direct translation "Pok Kai") Nice place! New, clean, quiet,reasonable rent, single room, got own toilet (not sharing anymore) but cannot walk 2 class 1 lar, cos it's a bit far. (maaf no pictures, cos when i tried uploading it, it takes like 2 years 2 do so, so i give up...next time lar okie)!

Day 5

Our day started off with early exercise, i.e. badminton in our uni. We started playing from 9.30am until around 12.30pm. It was fun but I was half-paralysed after the game. All thanks to lack of exercise regularly. T___T. I was a real lousy player, felt so bad playing with them cause they are all very professional player.
After having the good game, we were all tired and hungry, so we went to Hawken Drive for lunch. Before that, we brought Fish around UQ and we chilled by UQ lake for a while too. Yes, we have a nice lake in uni. XD..
We just had to do this...
Lunch time, we had Jap again...
why always take picture like this....T___T..I can't remember what were we doing.....>.<..
Then we walked home after lunch, on the way, we just have to do this...I have never take pic with it even I'm here for one whole semester!! LOL..Proud to be UQ-ians....XD...Then we stopped by Wei Jien's house for a while....the back of his apartment is just beside the river....scenic view...While waiting for Wei Jien to take a shower and all, Fish was playing with the keyboard in his place and Khai Chin and I fell asleep on the couch. By the time we woke up, it was already 4pm. So it was back to my place to prepare dinner.

Ingredients for dinner....we were having Bak Kut Teh that night....yummmm yummm...

Dinner time!!!! yay!!Over the dinner, we were discussing what to do after dinner. Some suggested DOTA, some suggested POKER, some suggested MOVIE....and we came to no conclusion in the end. Suddenly, Khai Chin was saying, let's go watch Hancock!!! That instant, the other 3 of us agree to the suggestion immediately. We were all so spontaneous and need excitement for the night, thinking that a late night movie will be a great idea...since we will feel bored at home..All 3 of us were like 'OK!! Let's go now!!!'...and we were off to check the time for the movie in Southbank. Movie was at 9.30pm and we had to leave around 8.30pm using Citycat. The time was around 8pm when we were discussing over the dining table. We quickly finish off our dinner, washed up the dishes and dashed out for our movie night!!! It was real fun!!!

Chilly wind...

Reach Southbank and shocked to see so many people in the cinema. Worse still, tickets for Hancock were all sold out!!! So, we settled for Get Smart instead. In cinema...The movie was great, we laughed so hard from the beginning to the end...but we did fell asleep in between, not because of the movie, it was due to the tiring badminton session we had earlier...The movie ended around 11.30pm and we went home after that.

Finally finish all the posts on Fish's visit to Brissy. I'm off to Sydney on Friday, 11th July and will be back one week later. SIGH....semester 2 is starting sooooo sooon...T___T...time flies...I dread starting second semester, I don't know what awaits me....so scary!! T___T...I dread going to Uni, can I just find a rich guy and marry him and be happily ever after? wtf...dreaming again.. XD...

Day 4

Yay yay....Kevin brought us yum cha + dim sum in Sunnybank this morning. We set off around 11am, went to the city then off to Sunnybank. The bus route changed so much that we took the wrong bus and had to wait for quite long for the right bus to come...

Finally, we reached our destination...outside the restaurant...We went in the restaurant and saw many people there.....it was lunch time so that explains...We waited for a while before we get seats....so while waiting we got the chance to take pics around...

The king crab that looked really dumb to me...LOLGiant Lobster....*slurps* I want to eat you up!!! if only I have the money..T__TWe ordered a lot of dim sum to fill up our hungry self...sigh... i miss the egg tart there....and the dim sum there, char siew pau....>.<..Fish promised to bring us for dim sum in Sydney..XD....yay!We gobbled down everything in just a few minutes...XD..After fillling up with dim sum, we went for dessert nearby for the famous tau fu fa...XD...

Then we went to buy the ingredients needed for dinner the next day.

Then it was back to city, brought fish to Anzac Square to take some pics...Then we have to rush home as Fish has a dinner to attend...so we took the Citycat to avoid the peak hour traffic...Dinner was only between me and Khai Chin....so I decided to make Shepherd's Pie while she baked yumm yumm chocolate mud cake....XD...Chocolate mud cake with cookies and cream ice-cream is oh-so-heavenly...Kevin and Wei Jien came over for small dessert session with us...We watched horror but lame movie until 2am and called it a day...

Day 3

2nd of July, Fish has got badminton tournament going on that day. I think it's called MASCA games? It's competition among Malaysians students in Australia, players from Victoria, Western Australia, NSW, Queensland and I forgot where else...Anyway, I got up very early to follow Fish to uni. Shirin left for Melbourne today, so I got Khai Chin to accompany me.

I was at the badminton tournament from the very beginning to the very end. Such a good supporter I am right? XD...Fish in action, Men's Double...his partner, Steven is a really funny guy...XD...

Day 1 & 2

My friend from Sydney was in Brissy for a short visit on the 30th of June. He arrived around 9pm and we picked him up from city and headed home to catch up with him over supper and enjoy the night view in my roof top.
Me, shirin, Fish from sydney...Yes I'm in my thick winter jacket...LOL...not necessary to use it though...XD..

night view....The next day, we have plans to bring him around. We woke up around 8-ish and then went to Southbank for breaky, breaky by the riverside is really very enjoyable. I'm lazy for words today, so let the pictures do the talking.

We travel using Citycat....To Southbank...Took pics while on the ferryAlong the river....More pics while walking around Southbank park...The artificial beach with life guards and all....XD..Breaky time....Yumm yumm breaky....(wtf why i look so emo and ugly here...)right after breaky, we went for cold rock....yumm yumm again....I have cravings for ice-cream now...T___TPaparazzi shot...
Continue walking around Southbank....And we walked back to the city to continue exploring...XD...

Group pic in front of casino...And we went to the Tourist infomation centre to check out places to visit...and then fish decided to go to the nearest botanical garden located 15 minutes walking distance from the city...we were lazy to walk so we jumped on Citycat and stopped at QUT and chill in the garden where we can see many live show, ie live kissing show..LOLWe chatted and camwhore a bit on the grass as the weather that day was awesome....Our student ID!!!! 3 from UQ and 1 from Uni of Sydney...More nice view to take pic...We even take a short walk in QUT as well as the nice Goodwill bridge, which links Southbank Parklands with QUT Garden PointsLunch was back in the city, we were choosing between Jap and Korean food. Unfortunately, korean restaurant was closed that time, so we went for Jap.Then it was yum cha session at some tea shop...Did some shopping too and tried on some high-waisted skirt...but can't seem to find one that fits me well...sigh...maybe it is just not meant for me...And visited City Hall too....too bad we cant go up the clock tower as it was already 4pm when we went there...it is only open to public from 10am-3pm. Lady luck was not by our side. Dinner was at Sunnybank, we had Korean seafood steamboat....yumm yumm....After dinner, headed to Mt-Cootha to enjoy the night breeze and the night view...
